This was a fast little project and I really liked how it turned out.
A six pointed star in knit lace. You can get the pattern here. The construction was interesting because I’d never done a cast on like it before. I’d mangle the explaination, so if you’re interested in how it was done, you can look here at Emily Ocker’s Cast-on.
It was a little fiddly having four double pointed needles sticking out everywhere when I first started at the center, but as I worked outward it became a lot more manageable. I used white glue mixed to a very thin consistency with water to stiffen it and let me tell ya, it’s not moving. I’d have to crumple it up on purpose to ruin it.
I’ve got another knitted ornament lined up that I’m really looking forward to doing…this is so fun!

I knitted an awesome snowflake once. And then… I was taking it somewhere to show my grandmother, and it disappeared in the wind. Pity. I’ve been wanting to make more, but I don’t think I’ll get any done before the holidays this year!
